The rod cases are semi-rigid, adjustable rod cases made from high density polyethylene. The length of the medium case can be adjusted from 16 to 24 inches. The long case can be adjusted from 32 to 40 inches. The diameter is 1.5 inches. The cases will protect the rods from scratches and minor falls but I wouldn't check them as airline baggage.
